I attended a graduation at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island. One of only two places in the world that makes Marines. After arriving, I realized that 10 years ago to the day I arrived here for bootcamp. So on my way off base I stopped by the barracks where I used to get destroyed to say hey to the Drill Instructors who are there now.

I only wish I could convey how bad ass and professional they are. Thank you for everything you do gentlemen and I appreciate the foundation you gave me.
Just when I thought they couldn’t get any better the Drill Instructors allowed me to speak to all six decks of their Marines who just “earned the title” by completing “the crucible” just days earlier.

Congratulations Marines. It was an honor and privilege to be able to spend time with you. Never forget that you can push yourself further, mentally and physically, than you can ever imagine.
I felt like I needed to get slayed before taking a picture in front of the infamous silver doors…again.

“Through these portals pass prospects for America’s finest fighting force.” The only people to ever walk through them are United States Marine recruits.

My son graduated from bootcamp Parris Island on March 29, 2019. It wasn’t until after we had already left to bring him home that day when I found out you were there also! I would have so loved to have met you and shook your hand, you are a true hero in my eyes! Thank you sir for your great service and sacrifice to our country. I can not wait to read your book!!
