Eight Years Ago

This is the 16th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, Carlton Kent.

Eight years ago he helped lay my Purple Heart medal on my bare chest while I laid in my hospital bed at Walter Reed, because I couldn’t get a shirt over my arms or the tubes coming out of me.

Today, I am so thankful, and privileged, to call him a dear friend. Semper Fidelis and thank you for everything Sergeant Major.
